This is a remarkable accumulation of literally hundreds of cards featuring many of the greatest stars of the postwar era, an array that would command a king’s ransom in higher grades but nonetheless provides a genuine opportunity even in this basically Good to Very Good description, with some above and below and the emphasis probably toward Very Good. With a lineup that includes more than a dozen Mantles, 16 Aarons and eight Clementes, etc., plus rookie cards from the likes of Carlton, Ryan and Reggie, among others, it’s a unique offering of Hall of Famers from the great mainstream Topps issues of the 1950’s and 1960’s, often with significant and even prodigious duplication. In addition to the main lineup listed below, there are literally dozens of League Leader and World Series specials featuring many of the same Hall of Famers, plus an additional lengthy listing of other HOFers and other great stars of the era pictured typically in their mainstream Topps issues. The breakdown: Aaron (16) – 1962 All-Star, 1963 Power Plus, 1967 (2), 1968 (2), 1968 Game card and nine League Leaders; Aparicio (2) – 1968; Berra (3) – 1960, 1962 and 1965; Banks – 1966, Brock (2) – 1967 Clubbers and 1969; Cepeda (11) – 1966 (4), 1967 (4), 1968 (2) and 1968 All-Star; Carlton (2) – 1965 Rookie and 1969; Clemente (7) – 1963 Bucs Blasters, 1965-67, 1968 Manager’s Dream, 1970, and 1962 Post Cereal; Drysdale (7) – 1966 (2) and 1967 (5); Durocher (6) – 1967 (4) and 1969 (2); Ford (7) – 1965 (2), 1966 (3) and two League Leaders; Gibson (4) – 1967 (2), 1969 and 1965 World Series; Hodges (9) – 1959 World Series, 1964, 1966 (3), 1967 (3) and 1968; Hunter (5) – 1966 (2), 1968 (2) and 1969; Reggie Jackson – 1969 Rookie; Kaline (19) – 1964 (2), 1965, 1966 (2), 1967 (8) and 1968 (6); Killebrew (7) – 1964 All-Star Vets, 1968 and five League Leaders; Koufax (16) – 1964 and 15 League Leaders; Mantle (13) – 1963 – Fair, 1966 – Fair, 1967 – Good, 1968 – six, mostly VG-EX, plus four Checklists; Marichal (17) – 1966 (8), 1967 (7), and 1968 (2); Maris (5) – 1967; Mathews (4) – 1961, 1967 (2), and 1968; Mays (9) – 1962 Post, 1964 and seven League Leaders; Morgan – 1968 All-Star; Palmer (10) – 1967 (5), and 1967 World Series (5); Perry (4) – 1965 and 1968 (3); Brooks Robinson (16) – 1964, 1966 (7), 1968 Game card, 1968 All-Star and 1967 Checklist (3); Frank Robinson (30) – 1964, 1966 (2), 1967 (11), 1967 Champs (7), 1969 (2) and six League Leaders; Rose (2) – 1968 and 1969 All-Star; Ruth (11) – 1962 Babe Ruth Subset; Ryan – 1968 Rookie; Schoendienst (5) – 1965 and 1967 (4); Ted Williams (3) – 1955 (Fair), 1959 Fleer and 1960 Fleer; Yastrzemski (12) – 1962, 1968 (4), 1968 World Series and 1968 Checklist (6).
