Presented here is a high-grade accumulation of cards from the difficult 1971 Topps Baseball issue, the company’s largest offering to that time and easily the most condition-sensitive issue the venerable Brooklyn-based behemoth has ever produced. The full-bleed black borders have long made the issue a challenge for collectors, making this nice, collectible Excellent to Nr-Mt offering (with some falling below the range) all the more attractive. This array constitutes more than 80 percent of a complete set and is a solid Excellent to Nr-Mt, with some below and the emphasis to Ex-Mt. More than a dozen Hall of Famers are included in this group, along with many All-Stars, stars and Specials. About 1/3 of the group have the kind of centering that might typically prompt an upgrade, though not all of those would be severe enough to dictate a formal off-center designation.
