This lot offers two unique Tuxedo tobacco ads from the 1910s. One is a 9x12 ad featuring Ty Cobb from The Literary Digest and is dated January 23, 1915. Cobb’s picture and facsimile signature are featured and has a headline “The World’s Greatest Ball Player Smokes the World’s Best Tobacco.” The other measures 11x14 and is from a Aug. 30, 1913 issue of The Saturday Evening Post. It features the headshots of Fred Clarke, Miller Huggins, Roger Bresnahan, Joe Tinker, Jimmy Archer and Jack McInnis with the headline “Tuxedo – A Hit with the Hit-Makers.”
