The 1952 Topps Look ’n See is arguably one of the most popular non-sport card sets of all time. The set focuses on more than 150 years-worth of famous figures that helped shape America. A total of 135 cards make up the 1952 Topps Look ‘n See checklist, with subjects divided into several subsets of U.S. Presidents, Military Leaders, Famous Americans, etc. The 2 ½-by-3 1/8-inch cards are found here in an outstanding Excellent to Ex-Mt condition, with the emphasis to the upper end of the scale, housed in nine-pocket sheets in a binder that nicely presents the colorful issue that mimics the design of the company’s legendary larger-sized baseball counterparts from 1952. This entry displays wonderful color and good gloss, with a striking, consistent presentation. The all-important Babe Ruth card, the only baseball player or even professional athlete deemed worthy of inclusion in this charming offering, nicely conforms to the broader condition range, a solid Excellent. Slightly more than three dozen cards have the kind of centering that might prompt an upgrade, though not all of those would be severe enough to dictate and off-center designation. A breakdown of some of the keys: No. 1 Franklin Roosevelt – Ex o/c, 3 Jefferson – VG, 4 Lincoln – Ex-Mt o/c, 5 Truman – Ex-Mt o/c, 6 Teddy Roosevelt – Ex-Mt, 9 Washington – Ex-Mt, 15 Ruth – Ex, 41 Eisenhower – Ex-Mt o/c, Geronimo – Very Good and 64 Churchill – Nr-Mt o/c.
