Presented here is yet another striking example of one of the classic non-sport Topps issues from the 1950’s, the 1954 World on Wheels issue, nearly complete at 160 cards, with six of the difficult high-numbers cards included. The 2 5/8-by-3 ¾-inch cards are found here in a condition range notieceably better than these non-sport treasures are typically found in older collections, generally Excellent to Ex-Mt. The cards boast wonderful vivid colors and good gloss in the charming paintings of cars, trucks and military vehicles from many countries and eras. Initially issued as a 160-card set in 1953, another 20 cards of the new models from 1954 were added that year, and the 20 short-printed cards are significantly more difficult to find than the first 160, with six examples presented here in high grades. It’s very rare to find this enormous issue in such outstanding, uniform condition. The six high numbers included in this group are: 170, 171, 173, 175, 177 and 178.
