This is a wonderful collectible commemorating the legendary year when the Brooklyn Dodgers finally upended their archrivals the Yankees to win the World Series. This is about two thirds of the complete stamp grouping from the Dodgers, one of four teams to take part in the stamp program that year that featured 40-page, 8 1/2-by-11-inch-booklets with two pages of 16 unperforated stamps on each of players from that team. Presented here are 22 of the 32 Dodgers full-color stamps, in this instance each carefully perforated and in essentially Near-Mint condition, with one stamp, Jackie Robinson, having been affixed to the booklet and cut out. The grouping includes: Alston, Amoros, Black, Campanella, Furillo, Gilliam, Hoak, Hodgers, Hughes, Kellert, Labine, Loes, Meyer, Newcombe, Podres, Reese, Robinson, Roebuck, Shuba, Snider, Spooner and Zimmer.
