Presented here is an impressive partial set from the unique 1959 Fleer Life of Ted Williams, the 80-card issue focused entirely on the great slugger who had signed an exclusive five-year contract with Fleer at the end of a five-year run of being portrayed on Topps cards from 1954-58. This partial set has a condition range fairly typical for the genre as found in older collections, essentially Very Good to Excellent, with a few below. Also included is a reprint of the extraordinarily rare No. 68 Ted Signs card (Near-Mint), a card so difficult that is not typically listed as part of a complete set. The breakdown: Excellent (24): No. 12, 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 22, 24, 27, 33, 34, 36, 47, 49, 50, 51, 62, 63, 64, 65, 69, 71 and 73; VG-Ex (5): 26, 35, 44, 49 and 66; Very Good (11): 2, 4, 8, 9, 18, 30, 31, 39, 53, 61 and 72; Good (5): 26, 37, 42, 57 and 78; Fair (2): 6 and 70. All in all, a very nice start on a complete set featuring one of the most prominent players of the postwar era.
