Here are nearly a dozen important early 1980’s Topps sets, all just as they came from the factory in glistening Near-Mint to Mint or better condition, most clearly from vending. The 10 sets amount to around 7,700 cards heralding the giddy early days of the decade when the addition of two new competitors for Topps served to expand the scope of the baseball card hobby to unimagined dimensions. The pristine offerings betray no discernible difference in condition between the Tier One Hall of Famers and the rest of the aggregation. The inventory starts with a single 1980 Topps (726) set, followed by two 1981 sets (726), three 1982 sets (792, two are factory sets) and four 1985 Topps sets (792). In short, a chance to go back more than a quarter-century to find cards as pristine as the day they were printed.
