This lot offers 100 signed checks from former pitcher Ned Garver. The dates range from 1974 to 1993. Garver had his best season in 1951 when he was the starting pitcher in the All-Star Game and finished in a three-way tie with Yogi Berra and Allie Reynolds for MVP, but Berra won the award because of votes further down the ballots. Garver is one of only two modern (post-1900) pitchers to win 20 or more games for a team which lost 100 or more games in the same season, and is the last to do so and the only one to do it with a winning record.
