Presented here are two super high-grade arrays of cards from two key Topps football issues in the late 1970’s and 1980, cards that are pretty clearly Near-Mint to Mint and probably from vending, boasting a striking presentation of bold, vivid colors, excellent gloss and super clean backs. The card numbers range from low to high, with a bit of the duplication that you might expect from a group that boasts vending heritage. There are many stars, All-Stars and some specials included in assortments that could be used to launch on a pair of truly high-grade complete sets or to upgrade any number of existing sets. These cards are nothing short of superb. Divided almost evenly between the two years – 203 in 1977 and 206 in 1980 – the grouping has the kind of centering that you might typically encounter from vending, in this instance meaning maybe ¼ of the assortment from 1977 and about 10 percent from 1980 have centering that might prompt an upgrade, though not all of those would be severe enough to force an off-center qualifier. It’s very difficult to imagine collectors of these two issues finding such a large array in such uniformly pristine condition.
