This is a high-grade example of the classic U.S. Presidents complete set, a non-sport mainstay that boasts more successful incarnations than some of the politicians it memorializes. Based on the larger-sized 1952 Bowman U.S. Presidents issue, the 2 ½-by-3 ¾-inch cards would gain even wider popularity by a subsequent reissue by Topps in 1956 after the company bought out its rival. This example is particularly sharp, essentially Near-Mint with a handful to Ex-Mt, housed in nine-pocket sheets in a binder and boasting a spectacular consistent look, with vivid colors and good gloss. About 1/3 of the array has the kind of centering that might typically prompt an upgrade, though not all of those would be severe enough to dictate a formal off-center designation. Among the keys that fall into that group are Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Wilson, Truman, JFK, Johnson and Nixon.
