It’s one of the smallest baseball cards extant – maybe the smallest – but that doesn’t mean it has no clout, especially when the Bambino comes a knockin. This tough Cuban issue from the dawn of the Great Depression features a number of major league Hall of Famers, but none bigger than Ruth, found here in an imposing PSA 6 holder. At roughly 5/8 -by-7/8 inches, the cards have a small black and white photo on the front with the player’s name beneath, and “Baguer Chocolate” and “El mas popular” on the back in red. Ruth naturally headlines an imposing group of Hall of Famers in the 90-card issue that includes Lou Gehrig, Walter Johnson, Jimmie Foxx, Lefty Grove, Rogers Hornsby, George Sisler, Al Simmons and others. Any card in the issue is tough enough, but the Ruth – most notably in a solid Ex-Mt grade like this, makes it particularly imposing for serious collectors
