This is a very nice partial set of the coveted 1957 Topps Baseball issue, the first card issue produced in the now-standard 2 1/2-by-3 ½-inch size and the set that has typically been the launching point for any number of vintage collections. Offered in a binder, this is a nice, very consistent presentation, mostly Excellent, with a few above and below the range, and including nearly a dozen Hall of Famers, plus 51 cards from the very difficult Middle Series (Nos. 265-352). Arguably the most challenging set of the decade when it came to finding nicely centered cards, this accumulation is fairly typical of the era, with about ½ of the group with the kind of centering that might typically prompt an upgrade, though not all of those would be severe enough to dictate an official off-center designation. Two cards have been third-party slabbed and graded, Nos. 83 (PSA 6) and 389 (PSA 5). The Hall of Fame lineup includes Aparicio, Drysdale, Herzog, Fox, Wynn, Williams, Spahn, Lemon, Kell and Mathews; the star listing includes Score, Labine, Howard, Clete Boyer, Erskine, Yankees Team, Giants Team and Dodgers Sluggers.
