It’s arguably the most attractive baseball card issue that Topps produced in the 1970’s, the 1975 Topps set that boasts the dual-color panels and full-bleed design that makes the cards so particularly condition sensitive to even the slightest nudges. This example is virtually unimproveable, a wonderful aggregation of seemingly uncirculated cards, with vivid colors, great gloss and, as alluded to above, almost none of the dreaded chipping that typically torments this issue. The cards are easily Near-Mint or even better condition, with many cards Near-Mint to Mint and barely a handful falling below to mostly Ex-Mt. There is no discernible difference between the Tier One Hall of Famers and top stars and the broader group. It’s very hard to imagine finding a more outstanding example of this important and popular Topps issue from more than 40 years ago. Perhaps five dozen cards have the kind of centering that might prompt an upgrade, though not all of those would be severe enough to necessarily dictate an off-center designation. A handful of cards have a slight diamond cut, and a similar number would probably be deemed Excellent to Ex-Mt, that latter group including No. 117 Orioles Team, 126 Checklist, 216 Giants Team, 421 Mets Team, 515 Sanguillen and 540 Brock. The breakdown: No. 1 Aaron Highlight – Nr-Mt, 20 Munson – Nr-Mt, 70 Schmidt – Nr-Mt, 80 Fisk – Nr-Mt, 150 Gibson, 195 MVP’s 1957 – Nr-Mt, 223 Yount – Nr-Mt, 228 Brett – Nr-Mt, 260 Bench – Nr-Mt to Mt, 300 Jackson – Nr-Mt to Mt, 320 Rose – Nr-Mt, 335 Palmer – Nr-Mt, 500 Ryan – Ex-Mt-Plus, 616 Rice RC – Nr-Mt, 620 Carter RC – Nr-Mt, 622 Lynn RC – Nr-Mt o/c, 623 Hernandez RC – Nr-Mt, 640 Killebrew – Nr-Mt o/c and 660 Aaron – Nr-Mt.
