Minor-League yearbooks don’t typically yield rare treasures, but that’s the case here with this 1994 Albany-Colonie Yankees Yearbook from the final year of the team’s tenure in the Capital District. More importantly for our purposes, the Near-Mint condition yearbook boasts a pristine, unperforated Derek Jeter pre-rookie card, the very same card that has commanded thousands of dollars in a PSA 10 holder. As noted, the card is in its original magazine insert format, alongside Andy Fox between pages 56 and 57 of the 68-page yearbook. The final card of the trio, Tate Seefried, appears along the spine toward the front of the yearbook on page 9. For the Jeter card, the perforation with the Fox card is intact, and there is no visible wear on either of the two exposed corners. The yearbook could hardly be in nicer condition, but ultimately it’s that rare Jeter card that drives the discussion. This is a major-league treasure in a minor-league setting, with the opportunity to pick up a key card of the legendary (eventual) Hall of Famer and arguably the most beloved Yankee since “The Mick” called it quits a half-century ago.
