Offered is a piece of United States history as Lyndon B. Johnson signed this letter while he was a senator.Johnson sent this letter to Mr. Palmer Hoyt, Editor and Publisher, of the Denver Post on June 5, 1951. The letter says: Dear Ep: The appropriation for fighting the spruce bettle is before a Senate Appropriations Subcommittee The gruop is headed by Senator Richard B. Russell of Georgia. Senator Russell is a very able legislator and I will talk to him about the problem. I hope we can do something to help your people in this situation. I will personally see to it that Senator Russell gets the piece of spruce bark which you sent to me. It is an impressive piece of evidence. Sincerely Lyndon B. Johnson. The letter itself does have some browning on it throughout. Johnson signed this letter with a black fountain pen and the autograph has been slabbed and authenticated by BAS. The autograph has been graded a perfect 10.
