This is an imposing lot inspired by the very hobby institution that helped start it all in the 1970’s: the rookie card. Presented here are 400 rookie cards from legendary Hall of Famers (more than four dozen) and a number of others waiting to punch their Cooperstown ticket, plus stars from primarily the 1970’s forward, but also including a handful from the 1960’s and even 1950’s. In instances prior to the end of the Topps’ monopoly in 1981, a player listed would indicate his Topps rookie card (typically with a condition noted in parenthesis); in the years after the arrival of Fleer and Donruss, players indicated often with multiple cards would mean cards from the mainstream manufacturers, typically Topps, Fleer, Donruss, Score and Upper Deck. Cards from 1981 forward are mostly Ex-Mt to Near-Mint and cards after 1986 or so are typically Near-Mint or better.
