Presented here is an elegant offering from Topps that features a dozen of their great cards from the decade of the 1960’s portrayed in imposing 5/16th of an inch bronze cards and offered in a handsome 9-by-19-inch walnut case. The bronze ingots were originally sold on a subscription basis as part of a Stadium Club promotion, with each 2 ½-by-3 ½-inch bronze card (6 ounces each) initially priced at $40 per. The offered set is in nearly as-issued condition, with each ingot boasting crisp definition of the Hall of Famer on cards identical to the actual cardboard versions, save only for the expanded statistics on the card backs altered to reflect each player’s complete career numbers. As noted, the bronze cards are Near-Mint to Mint or better, with only the slight flaking of the foam cushioning.
