Here are nearly three dozen cards from the iconic 1941 Play Ball issue, the final mainstream baseball card set before the United States entered World War II and card collecting and a host of other non-essential activities took a hiatus for the next three years. Hall of Famer Carl Hubbell headlines this array that includes five cards from the difficult higher-number series and is in a wide condition range that is fairly typical of cards from this series that are found in mature collections: Very Good to Excellent (4) – No. 28, 36, 40 and 62; Very Good (15) – No. 9, 11, 16, 21, 23, 25 (2), 27, 42, 43 (2), 43, 44, 59 and 68; Good (6) – No. 6 Hubbell, 12, 38, 42, 46 and 48; Fair (6) – No. 7, 44, 46 (2), 49 and 57; and Poor (3) – No. 47 (2) and 58.
