Offered here is a truly impressive 1967 Topps Baseball partial set, complete with many of the key Hall of Famers and stars, and virtually all in a highly collectible Excellent to Near-Mint or better condition – with no duplication. The array represents a wonderful start on building a high-grade example of the 1967 Topps issue, arguably the company’s premier effort in the decade of the 1960s, with a simple yet striking design and enhanced photography that yielded some of the greatest cards to that date. The lot is a remarkable companion to an adjacent entry of even higher-grade specimens, but hardly a slouch in itself with fully 88 percent of the huge group Excellent or better, and nearly 40 percent a blazing Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint. The lineup here includes three cards duly slabbed and graded: No. 150 Mickey Mantle – PSA 5, No. 215 Ernie Banks – PSA 6.5 and No. 430 Pete Rose – PSA 6. That’s a nice sampling of Cooperstown-worthy armament, but hardly exhausts the curriculum: there are Near-Mint to Mint keys like Kaline, Mays, and Brock, and six high numbers, plus Ex-Plus to Near-Mint examples from Clemente, Killebrew, Perez and Jenkins, to name a few.
