In what was easily Topps’ most colorful issue of the decade and arguably its most popular set from the same period, the 1975 set beguiled collectors then and now with full-bleed dual-color background borders that so easily show even the slightest bit of wear. That’s traditionally a problem, but not in this blazing Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint monster, as nice a 1975 Topps set as we have run across in years. This example reveals almost none of the dreaded chipping that jumps out on full-bleed borders, and boasts exceptionally bold and vivid colors in those splashy dual panels, along with nice gloss and good centering. The Tier One Hall of Famers and the two key Rookies – Robin Yount and George Brett – conform nicely to the broader condition range, with the No. 70 Mike Schmidt cards one of only a handful of pasteboards that fall below to Ex-Mt. Simply put, this is as spectacular a 1975 Topps set as you will find, one simply not to be missed and essentially unimprovable even for the most careful of collectors.
