If you somehow missed the decade of the 1980s in the hobby, here’s the chance to relive it in one fell swoop. The decade that changed the baseball card collecting hobby saw the arrival of a half dozen competitors to the venerable Topps behemoth, and almost all of their efforts are offered here alongside the Topps entries. All are virtually as originally issued, just as they came off the presses, and in many instances in original factory boxes. The breakdown: Topps Sets 1980-89 (10), first three years complete at 726 cards, last seven at 792 – most in boxes, 1983, 1984 and 1987 in binders (1987 includes 153 Mini and All-Stars additional cards, including complete All-Star Set); Topps Update Sets 1981-89 (10), in original boxes at 132 cards each, including extra 1989 Update Set in unique horizontal packaging with factory cellophane; Fleer Sets 1981-89 (9), first six years complete at 660 cards, last three at 672 – in boxes, plus 1986 Update in box (132) and 1989 Update (132) in box with cellophane; Donruss Sets, seven years in boxes – 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986, 1987 and 1989, first year complete at 605 cards, remaining years at 660, plus 1989 Donruss Rookies box set (56); 1989 Upper Deck Set, complete at 700 cards, plus two (2) boxes of 1989 Upper Deck High Series with cellophane; 1989 Bowman complete set (484); Score Sets 1988-89 (2), complete at 660 cards, plus 1988 and 1989 Score Traded sets in boxes (110).
