Presented here is a very nice example of the important 1976 Topps Football issue, one of the great sets of the decade with a boffo class of rookies, most notably the legendary Walter Payton, who debuted here with what is easily the key to the issue. The offered set is in a handsome Ex-Mt to Near-Mint condition, with some below and the emphasis to Near-Mint, all in a uniform and consistent presentation that boast vivid colors, nice gloss and clean backs. The exemplary rookie class – starting with that aforementioned PSA 6 Payton, conform nice to the broader condition range; the most notable condition anomalies involve the Team Checklist cards from the Seahawks, Bucs, Dolphins, 49ers, Patriots, Bills, Broncos, Bengals, Giants, Oilers, Colts, Raiders, Redskins, Rams, Jets, Cowboys, Falcons, Chargers, Lions and the No. 177 Checklist card which present in a fashion that nicely conforms to the broader condition range, but are marked (or more precisely, checked as checklists are typically handled).
