Presented here is an old-fashioned type auction lot featuring hundreds of vintage mostly Topps baseball cards from the 1950s and 1960s, including more than five dozen Hall of Famers and a boatload of stars and specials, all neatly embedded in an enormous grouping that demands a good deal of close examination to secure maximum value. Some of the larger groupings include 1962 Topps (168), 1966 Topps (91), 1967 Topps (63) and 1959 Topps (55), plus there is a big array (61) of mostly nice condition Team cards from 1957-70 and a large grouping of almost three dozen Checklist cards from 1962-68. Here’s a chronological breakdown: 1951 Bowman No. 217 – Good; 1952 Bowman No. 152 – Excellent; 1952 Topps No. 254 – Fair; 1954 Bowman (4) Very Good – Slaughter, Schoendienst, Gilliam and Burgess; 1953 Topps (2) No. 48 – VG-Ex and No. 101 – Poor; 1954 Topps (4) Very Good – No. 7, 121, 213 and 242; 1955 Topps No. 140 – Fair; 1956 Topps (6) mostly Fair to Good – No. 91, 41, 59, 99, 270 and 280; 1957 Topps (3) No. 8 – VG and 207 and 391 – Poor; 1958 Topps (14) wide condition range – 101, 118, 142 Slaughter (2), 224 (2), 240, 265, 271, 382, 393 (3), and 419; 1959 Topps (55) wide condition range of VG to Nr-Mt, several very nice cards – Bunning, Slaughter (3), Kluszewski, Erskine, Clete Boyer (2), Gilliam (2), Wilhelm, Roberts, Howard, Mazeroski, Mathews, Podres (2) and three Baseball Thrills; 1960 Topps (45) wide condition range of VG to Ex-Mt – Gilliam, Groat (2), Turley (2), Skowron (2), Minoso, Stengel and Ashburn, plus 11 World Series and 11 Coaches, including Yankees (2), Dodgers and Pirates; 1961 Topps (10) mostly Ex to Ex-Mt with some below – Ashburn, Lopez, Richardson, Gilliam, Kubek and Mays (Poor); 1962 Topps (168) wide condition range of VG-Ex to Ex-Mt, with some below – Richardson, Piersall, Alston (Nr-Mt), Kubek (2), Howard All-Star, Zimmer, Murtaugh, Blanchard, Skowron, Allison (2) and two Thrills; 1963 Topps (44) wide condition range, but about ½ of the group approaches Near-Mint – Bunning, Mazeroski, Minoso, Skowron (2), Kaat, Alston, Roberts, Hubbs, Bouton, Law, Alou, Larsen, Zimmer, two League Leaders and two World Series cards; 1964 Topps (15) mostly VG to Ex, some above and below - Elston Howard, Flood, Stengel, Tresh and Giant Gunners; 1965 Topps (27) wide condition range, quite a few Ex-Mt – Kaat, Piersall (3), Dallas Green (4), Clemente (Fair), Alston and three League Leaders; 1966 Topps (91) wide condition range of VG to Ex-Mt, some below – Hunter, Brock (2), Killebrew, Santo, McCarver (2), Bouton (2), Marichal, Kaline, Cepeda, Felipe Alou (2), Matty Alou (2), Lonborg, Tommy Davis (3) and seven League Leaders; 1967 Topps (63) wide range of VG to Nr-Mt, some below, with quite a few very nice cards (about ½ Ex-Mt to Nr-Mt) – Howard, Hodges (2), Banks, Gibson (2, Fair), Perry, Brock, Killebrew, Cepeda and several Combination cards and World Series card; 1968 Topps (33) wide range, VG to Ex-Mt or better, some below – Carlton (2), Niekro (2), Sutton (2), Perry, Cepeda, Mathews, McCovey (Poor), two World Series cards and four League Leaders; 1969 Topps (41) wide range, VG to Ex-Mt, some below – Hunter, Davis, John, Palmer, Drysdale, Schoendienst (3), Kaat, Sutton, Allen, three All-Stars, seven League Leaders and a World Series card; 1962-68 Topps Checklist cards (30) Very Good to Ex-Mt; 1957-68 Topps Team cards (61) mostly VG-Ex, some below for early years and improves a bit closer to Ex to Ex-Mt around 1963 – 1957 Topps Yankees (Poor-hole); 1958 Topps (4) Red Legs, Orioles, Cardinals and Braves; 1959 Topps (8) - Braves (2), Orioles (2), Indians, Senators, Cubs and White Sox; 1960 Topps (7) – Phillies (2), Braves, Cardinals, White Sox, Reds and Senators; 1961 Topps (3) – Cubs, Orioles and Giants; 1962 Topps (9) – Angels (2), Braves (2), Tigers, White Sox, Reds, Dodgers and Phillies; 1963 Topps (3) – Senators, Reds and Angels; 1964 Topps (4) - Angels, Tigers, Pirates and Red Sox; 1965 Topps – Cubs; 1966 Topps (11) – Reds (2), Dodgers (2), Mets, Phillies, Giants, Pirates, Yankees, Angels and Cubs; 1967 Topps (8) condition back to VG-Ex – Orioles (2), Cubs (2), Cardinals, Angels, Senators and Dodgers; and 1968 Topps (2) Angels and White Sox.
