A sparkling 1940’s Joe DiMaggio Iron-on Transfer headlines this eclectic group of primarily 1960’s Topps baseball inserts, with an extensive roster that includes coins, discs, pins, posters, Embossed cards and Scratch-offs in a lot that boasts nearly six dozen Hall of Famers on the roster and begs for close examination from advanced collectors looking for something beyond the traditional mainstream material. We'll lead with the pristine 1940’s Joe DiMaggio Iron-on Transfer, the unique 3-by-7-inch item that features a line drawing of The Yankee Clipper in a condition seemingly identical from day of issue. Clearly Near-Mint or better, the transfer has two tiny staple holes at the top where the transfer had been attached to cardboard backing, none of which is anywhere near the attractive DiMaggio artwork. A huge group of Topps Coins (80) from both 1964 and 1971 is in a wide condition range of generally Good to Excellent, with some Fair and Poor with rusting and chipping on the delicate rims and some staining and scratching on the backs. There are 25 Coins from 1964 and 55 from 1971, with a lineup that includes Frank Robinson (2), Brooks Robinson, Mazeroski, Marichal, Palmer, Yastrzemski, Carlton, Carew, Morgan and Torre (3); 1965 Topps Embossed (27) – Good to Excellent, some below, including Aaron (VG-Ex), Yastrzemski (Fair), Bunning (VG), Clemente (VG), Santo (Ex-Mt o/c), Williams (Ex), Killebrew (Fair) and Mazeroski (Poor); 1967 Topps Posters (11) – The 5-by-7-inch “Pinups” inserts are generally Very Good to Excellent, with a few nicks, including Frank Robinson (2), Killebrew, McCovey, Cepeda, Torre, McLain, Agee, Wagner, Hunt and Pepitone; 1970 Topps Booklets (50) – Excellent or below, including Gibson (3), Jackson and Cepeda; 1971 Topps Scratch-offs (80) – Excellent to Ex-Mt, with some below, including Aaron (3), Marichal (3), Kaline (3), Perez, Yastrzemski and Killebrew; 1984 Slurpee Discs (51) – most Near-Mint, including Brett (3), Jackson (3), Murray (2), Yount (2), Carter, Dawson, Fisk, Molitor, Rice, Smith and Sutter; and 1984 Fun Foods Pins (18) – the full-color 1 1/8-inch in diameter pins are mostly Near-Mint, including Pete Rose (5), Boggs and Yount.
