Here is an extraordinary array of decidedly personal items from one of the great boxing figures of the last half century: Joe Frazier. The man who reigned as World Heavyweight Champion from 1970-73 lost only four times in his career, twice each to Muhammad Ali and George Foreman. Here are 10 pieces from his estate (including seven autographs), all in essentially superb and virtually as-issued condition, save only for a 3 ½-by-5-inch family photograph of The Champ with his youngest son, Derek, that might be described as Ex-Mt. Here’s the full roster: 1) Frazier’s personal Citizens Bank VISA Debit Card; 2) Frazier’s personal Citizens Bank Credit Card; 3) a Penn Medicine patient card that Frazier used for his orthopedic treatments; 4) A business card with Smokin’ Joe Frazier as a marketing director for a Philadelphia-based corporation; 5) A VIP Guest Card for a 2006 Memorabilia Show with Frazier’s name misspelled; 6) the aforementioned photograph with his son; 7-9) three Frazier corporate checks made out to and signed and endorsed by Frazier from near the end of his life that were never cashed; and 10) a final check for $100 made out to Frazier and endorsed by Frazier but never deposited, presumably because the individual ostensibly paying Joe the $100 for whatever purpose somehow forgot to sign the check. The lot comes with a Letter of Authenticity from the consignor providing details of the origin.
