One of the scarcest pre-WWII issues has to be the virtually never seen “Rinkeydink Stamps” that were cut from the “Winnie Winkle” Sunday Newspaper comic section. Measuring approximately 1-1/4” x 1-5/8” and including a player portrait image over a red, green, blue or yellow background, their condition sensitivity is extreme due to the flimsy newspaper stock they were removed from. While the exact newspapers these were issued in is unknown, what we do know with some certainty is the 1927 publishing date as well as the 10 Hall of Fame subjects included in the comic strips. The Cooperstown inductees include: Ruth, Cobb, W.Johnson, Hornsby, Alexander, Speaker, Pennock, E.Collins, B.Harris, and G.Kelly. This example features Eddie Collins and arrives in a PSA 7 case, with only two graded in PSA's population report.
