Offered is an extraordinary array of the coveted 1952 Topps Baseball set, the full lower-numbers Series 1-310, in this instance with essentially ½ of the set slabbed and graded, all but a handful by PSA. A GAI 5.5 No. 261 Willie Mays card headlines the slabbed contingent that includes 160 PSA slabs and two by SGC. Near universally regarded as The Holy Grail of postwar baseball cards, this issue has captivated collectors for generations, and this particular Low-Number set is found here in essentially VG-Ex to Near-Mint condition, markedly better than these classic cards are typically encountered in mature collections. Along with the GAI 5.5 Mays, the other key card in the array – the iconic No. 1 Eddie Mathews – is housed in a PSA Authentic (Altered) holder. As noted, the condition range is remarkable: 5 percent Near-Mint or better, 35 percent Ex-Mt, 38 percent Excellent and 18 percent VG-Ex.
