Offered is an extremely attractive high-grade complete set of the 1968 Dexter Press Postcard Series, the 3 ½-by-5 ½-inch postcard-size cards that have biographical text on the back along with a facsimile autograph. Issued as premiums by Coca-Cola, the cards boast the same stunning color photography of earlier Dexter Press offerings in the mid- to late-1960s, a series that featured some of the most spectacular photography of major league players at the time, albeit in this instance limited to barely more than a half dozen teams – Astros, Braves, Orioles, Red Sox, Giants and Twins, most with 12 players pictured per team. This 77-card complete set is breathtaking in its pristine presentation, coming in at Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint overall, with vivid colors and sharp corners for the full-bleed images on the card fronts. The Dexter series during this period were known for a heavy gloss finish; with that heavy gloss oftentimes there can be some sticking of the cards, which is the case here but hardly detracts from the overall presentation. The breakdown of keys: Aaron – Near-Mint, Carew – Nr-Mt, Clemente – presents Nr-Mt but some light paper loss from sticking, Marichal – Nr-Mt to Mt, Mays – Nr-Mt-Plus, Mazeroski – Nr-Mt, Morgan – Nr-Mt, Niekro – Nr-Mt, Perry – Nr-Mt, Brooks Robinson – Nr-Mt-Plus, Frank Robinson – Nr-Mt, and Torre – Nr-Mt to Mt.
