Offered is an eclectic mix of cards, artwork, premiums, inserts and even embroidery from a range of national and regional manufacturers like Topps, Perez-Steele, Sportflics and others, with the Hall of Fame third sacker featured in each and every piece, sometimes with multiple examples. It’s the kind of collection that is difficult to amass and likely required decades of perseverance and resourcefulness from a dedicated fan. The material is broadly as issued, generally Ex-Mt to Near-Mint, with a few below but overall a simply outstanding tribute to one of the greatest players of the 1970s and 1980s with difficult-to-find, often unique items. The breakdown: 1) Perez-Steele Great Moments 5 ¾-by-8-inch card; 2) Large group of the 1977 Pepsi-style MSA Discs (36), without the conventional Pepsi markings and with stamped advertising from business around the country; 3) Plastic coaster; 4) Sportscaster cards (4 5/8-by-6 3/8-inches), two different; 5) 1987 Sportflics 3D Disc, 4 ½ inches in diameter; 6) 1986 Topps 4 ¼-by-6-inch 3D card; 7) Kraft, Chef Boyardee and M&Ms two-card panels (3); 8) 1977 Topps All-Star Puzzle Stickers (9); 9) Gerry Dvorak artwork photo card 3 ½-by-5 inches; 10) Plastic Mike Schmidt Golf Tourney bag tag 5-by-3 ¼ inches; 11) Authenticated Ink Schmidt Art card with embedded dime; 12) Phillies 3 ¼-by-5 ½-inch team-issued photos (2), one signed; 13) Embroidery 4-by-2 inches with No. 20 and facsimile signature; and 14) one dozen assorted tickets, cards, store tags and decals.
