Offered is a large grouping from the unique Kellogg’s baseball card run though the decade of the 1970s, cards that because of the peculiar production qualities of the 3-D process were subject to pesky curling and cracking. In addition, there are almost four dozen of the mid-1970s Hostess baseball cards that were similarly difficult to find in the highest grades, in this case because of the cumbersome hand cutting that was required to extract the cards from box backs. The grouping – as noted confronted in many instances by rather severe cracking – is broadly Good to Ex-Mt, with a handful of Hall of Famers included in the mix. The breakdown: 1970 Kellogg’s (15); 1971 Kellogg’s (17) with Pete Rose – Fair; 1972 Kellogg’s (13); 1972 Kellogg’s Greats (4) including Sisler (2), McGraw and Traynor; 1973 Kellogg’s (7); 1974 Kellogg’s (4); 1975 Kellogg’s (51), with a good deal of cracking; 1976 Kellogg’s (10); 1977 Kellogg’s (31) better condition, closer to Ex to Ex-Mt; 1978 Kellogg’s (12); 1980 (50); and 1981 (30); plus Assorted 1975-77 (44), including Bench, Yastrzemski, Rose, Stargell and several other HOFers.
1970-81 Kellogg’s Baseball and 1975-77 Hostess Large Group
