Presented is a very nice example of the quirky 1935 Goudey 4-in-1 issue, which pictures four players on each card on the front and a puzzle piece on the reverse. The 2 3/8-by-2 7/8-inch cards carry an ACC designation of R321, and headlining this lot is a Babe Ruth card that is found here in a PSA 2 holder and is easily the most valuable key to the issue. The grouping itself represents 75 percent of a complete set and is found here in a striking overall condition of roughly half of the cards in Excellent or Ex-Mt, which is dramatically better than Depression Era Goudeys are typically found in mature collections. Here’s the breakdown: Ex-Mt (2) – Nos. 14 and 35; Excellent (11) – No. 12, 13, 18, 19, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28 and 33; VG-Ex (8) – No. 11, 15, 25, 29, 30, 32, 34 and 36; Very Good (2) – Nos. 24 and 31; Good (2) – Nos. 10 and 17; and Fair – No. 20.
