Here is a fascinating sampling of cards from the key baseball card issues of the Depression Era, the prewar Goudeys and Play Balls, plus a half dozen cards from the pioneering 1948 Leaf Baseball postwar offering. Six Hall of Famers are included in the array, along with a 1939 Play Ball Moe Berg, one of the most important non-HOFer cards of the period.
