Presented is a truly extraordinary minor-league jersey from a veteran major-league star, Paul Blair, a stunning artifact that originated from the eight-time Gold Glove winner and two-time All-Star’s personal collection. The shirt boasts an amazing Elmira 100th Anniversary embroidered patch on the left sleeve, a true rarity noting the remarkable history of minor-league ball in the tiny Central New York community. The cream-colored flannel shirt has well-worn tagging on the collar, faded enough to be unreadable, with similarly faded flap tags adjacent. Two of five buttons are missing down the front, framed by attractive black piping. “Pioneers” appears across the front in well-aged orange-and-black felt, with noticeable fabric loss or fraying at some points that also applies to his No. 6 on the back. The four-time World Series champion has signed in black marker on the front below the mascot lettering. In addition, a 5-by-7-inch laminated black-and-white team photograph of the 1964 Eastern League Champions is included, showing Blair in the very same jersey.
