This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/19/2020
Offered are four important Topps basketball issues from the late 1970s and early 1980s, cards that are essentially as issued and boasting sparkling color and gloss and a uniform and consistent presentation. The lineup includes a 1976 issue of the elegant, oversized cards that portray the legendary NBA figures in the largest format of any mainstream sports card in history. The breakdown: 1976 Topps (144) – Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint, with the emphasis to the upper end of the spectrum. The keys include the No. 1 Erving (Near-Mint to Mint) and No. 60 Maravich (Near-Mint) and No. 110 Thompson Rookie (Ex-Mt); the No. 31 Wicks card has an m/c qualifier. There are two (2) 1978 Topps sets (132 each), basically Near-Mint to Mint blazers, missing No. 75 Bernard King, with one set a whisper better than the other, and perhaps a dozen or so cards having the kind of centering that might prompt thoughts of an upgrade, though not all of those would be severe enough to dictate an off-center designation.
