Offered is a solid condition empty vending case from 1974 Topps Baseball, the important mid-decade issue that would be the company’s first year of issuing the set all at one time rather than by series over the course of the spring and summer. The empty case at one time hosted 24 vending boxes of 500 cards each, that marvelous Topps invention that provided dealers with vast quantities of the coveted cards without the pesky bubble gum. The box is in Good condition, with some of the expected wear from handling, along with in-house pen or pencil markings; comes with a 7 ½-by-3 ½-inch Topps mailing label addressing the case to the legendary Larry Fritsch in Stevens Point, Wis. That’s the kind of provenance that collectors like, linking an important Topps artifact to arguably the most prolific collector in hobby history.
