This is an extraordinary nod to the arrival of Topps competitor Fleer in 1981, a massive lot with two unopened wax pack boxes, six complete sets, six empty boxes, about 640 pristine Stickers, an estimated 300 wrappers and a final pile of about 1,200 duplicates. All told, that’s about 7,340 pieces from the iconic, monopoly-busting 1981 Fleer set, all in virtually as-issued condition. Here’s the breakdown: 1) Two (2) unopened boxes of 1981 Fleer Baseball (36 packs each, Ex-Mt to Near-Mint), with boxes basically Ex-Mt; 2) 1981 Fleer Complete Sets (660 cards each), Near-Mint to Mint or better, including five with the entire canon of Error cards, and one missing about two dozen cards; 3) 1981 Fleer Star Sticker inserts (640), obviously with massive duplication, even of Tier One Hall of Famers, virtually all Near-Mint to Mint or better; 4) 1981 Fleer Baseball empty boxes (6) – five are Ex-Mt and one is Very Good; 5) 1981 Fleer Baseball wax pack wrappers, mostly Excellent or better (estimated 300); and 6) 1981 Fleer Baseball huge grouping (approximately 1,200) of extras in the same incredibly pristine condition, with enormous duplication, including key HOFers.
