Here is a simply outstanding home Boston Red Sox button-down flannel attributed to infielder Doug Griffin, a cream-colored classic with Red Sox across the front in black and red felt twill, and on his No. 2 on the back. The shirt would only have been worn in the first half of 1972, since the Red Sox switched to knits after the All-Star break. The legendary McAuliffe label appears at the front tail, with embroidered “1972” in red on a separate tag above and “40” embroidered in Dodger Blue below.
