In one of the epic early Ty Cobb photographs, the 1907 American League Batting Champion is pictured here in the famed Dietsche Detroit Tigers Postcard Series. The postcards measure 3 ½-by-5 ½ inches, with unique blacked-out backgrounds that uniquely focus the eye to the player pictured without distraction from surroundings. The postcard presents in Very Good fashion, with copyright information and a paragraph of Cobb’s biography on the back, along with elegant cursive message and address and 1-Cent stamp postmarked in Detroit, Mich., on Sept. 29, 1909.
