Presented is an imposing display piece featuring the popular 1914 Blankets that were inserted as premiums with many of the tobacco products of the period. Here then are a dozen of the colorful 5 ¼-inch Blankets, stitched together as was initially intended, matted and framed to overall dimensions of 18 ½-by-24 inches. The piece is headlined by one of the greatest stars of the period, Joe Jackson, which is also one of the toughest Blankets, along with four others included in the piece: Kelley, Hyatt, Mowrey and Wallace. Encased in an elegant metal frame and matted to great effect, the presentation is Near-Mint and the enclosed Blankets perhaps overall Excellent, with some visible fraying of the delicate stitching at several edges and minimal staining on three or four of the individual Blankets. The lineup (from the top, left to right): Hyatt, Whaling, Mowrey, Murray, McBride, Snodgrass, Foster, Kelley, Jackson, Turner, Wallace and Meyers.
