For fans of The Hammer, this is an imposing group of more than six dozen cards, all career-contemporary and most in collector grades, starting with a 1956 No. 31 Aaron that doesn’t quite conform to the collector-grade description. In addition to the 23 regular-issue cards, the rest of the lineup includes: 10 League Leaders from 1963-72; almost two dozen other Specials, including No. 1 cards from 1973, 1975 and 1976; and 20 of the Aaron Four-in-One Subset cards from 1974. As noted above, the leadoff cardboard is a 1956 Topps No. 31 found in an SGC Authentic holder, thusly designated because somebody – maybe the dog – took a bite out of the upper-right corner.
