Presented is a large group of Post Cereal baseball cards from the company’s iconic foray into the baseball card arena from 1961-63, an imposing array of about 400 cards that include 31 Hall of Famers and a bit of duplication, often among the Cooperstown group. The cards are broadly in the condition range often encountered with a food issue requiring the scissoring skills of the youth of America, which is to say Fair to Good, with some below and a number above mostly to Very Good, along with a significant number poorly cut. The Breakdown: The Roger Maris card from the famous 1962 Life Magazine insert – Very Good; 1961 Post Cereal (66) – Aaron – Fair, McCovey – Fair, Kluszewski (2), Cash, Crandall, Sanford, O’Dell, Roseboro and Podres; 1962 Post Cereal (200) – the cutting and overall condition improve a bit, more like Fair to Very Good, with a significant number edging up to Excellent or even Ex-Mt – (American League) Kaline – Good, Yastrzemski (2) - Excellent and Very Good, Killebrew – VG, Wilhelm (2) – VG-Ex and Good, Allison (3), Malzone (3), Dick Williams (2), Minoso, Runnels and Pierce; (National League) Aaron – Ex-Mt, Mays (2) – Ex and Fair, Mathews (4) – Ex-Mt, VG and two Good, Santo (2) – Ex and VG-Ex, McCovey – Poor, Torre – Fair, Ashburn (2) – two Good, Fair, Roberts – Good, Wills, Willie Davis (2), Tommy Davis (2), Gilliam (2), White (3), Pinson, Flood, Hodges and Hoak (2); 1963 Post Cereal (135) – majority Fair to Good, with some below and above, along with typical cutting issues – Kaline – VG, Wynn – Fair, Drysdale (2) VG-Ex and Good, Torre – Fair, Wynn (2) – Fair, Torre – Fair, Kaat, Power, Runnels, Lary, Gentile, and Pascual (5); 1962 Post Canadian (3) – Essegian, Miller and Buhl.
