Offered is an impressive partial set of the popular 1968 Topps Baseball issue in a very attractive, mostly Ex-Mt to Near-Mint condition, with some below but the emphasis to the upper end of the scale at Nr-Mt. It’s particularly noteworthy to find this issue in presentable grades since the quirky “burlap” borders from 1968 make this one of the true condition-sensitive offerings of the era. At 464 cards, it represents fully 78 percent of a complete set. The key headliners include an Ex-Mt-Plus Johnny Bench Rookie and a Pete Rose card in the same condition, plus cards of Aaron, Mays, Seaver, Clemente and two dozen more HOFers. Here’s the lineup of keys (regular-issue cards are shown unless otherwise indicated: Aaron (Very Good), Clemente (VG-Ex), Mays (VG), Bench Rookie (Ex-Mt-Plus), Seaver (VG), Rose (Ex-Mt-Plus), Frank Robinson (Near-Mint), Brock (Nr-Mt), Killebrew (Ex-Mt), Aaron All-Star (Ex-Mt-Plus), Yastrzemski All-Star (Ex-Mt-Plus), Frank Robinson All-Star (Nr-Mt), No. 480 Manager’s Dream (Nr-Mt), No. 490 SuperStars (Nr-Mt), Maris (Nr-Mt), Kaline (Nr-Mt), McCovey (Nr-Mt), Mathews, Stargell, Morgan, Drysdale, Cepeda, Marichal, Brooks Robinson, Hodges, Torre, Williams, McLain, Bunning, Santo, Niekro, Schoendienst, Aparicio, Durocher, Wilhelm, Hunter, Mazeroski, Jenkins, Alston and Palmer, plus 18 All-Stars, two League Leaders and one World Series.
