This is a simply spectacular example of the important 1973 Topps Baseball issue in a condition that is virtually unimprovable, missing only eight cards and boasting a striking Near-Mint or Near-Mint to Mint overall condition, with the emphasis to the upper end of the spectrum. With vivid colors and superb gloss, the array is a splendid representation of this iconic Topps issue, the set that marked the final time that the company released baseball cards by series over the course of spring and summer, a format that had ruled and shaped the baseball card business for more than two decades. In addition to the near set, there are about 142 extras in essentially the same high grades, with perhaps a dozen or more falling below, and trumpeting a roster that includes a good deal of duplication of a number of Hall of Famers and stars. The eight missing cards include: No. 72, 73, 82, 100 Aaron, 250 Yastrzemski, 393, 394 and 528.
