Here are two striking store model bats from two of the legendary Depression Era Hall of Famers, Jimmie Foxx and Mel Ott. Both 34-inch bats are in nice condition, showing considerable use in the case of the Ott bat. The early Hillerich & Bradsby logo appears on the barrel (not Louisville Slugger), with the bat having “Mel Ott Model” stamped in all caps on the barrel; the bat presents nicely but has a notable crack on the handle. The Foxx store model bat has the facsimile signature on the barrel on a Louisville Slugger labled version. These are two outstanding artifacts linked to two fabled Hall of Famers from the prewar era.
