This is an essentially unimprovable example of one of the more unusual football issues of the 1960s, the Nu-Card Football set that highlighted collegiate players, most notably featuring a card of the Heisman Trophy winner Ernie Davis at Syracuse. The issue features 80 cards that are standard-sized and numbered from 101-180. A glistening SGC 92 John Hadl No. 117 card provides a nice glimpse into the wider condition range, which is quite uniformly Near-Mint to Mint, with perhaps a handful below mostly to Near-Mint. A spectacular Near-Mint card of the 1962 No. 1 Draft Pick Davis headlines, the first card of the College Football Hall of Famer who would succumb to leukemia in 1963 without ever having played a down for the Cleveland Browns. Breakdown of keys or condition anomalies: No. 101 – Ex-Mt, No. 117 Hadl – SGC 92, No. 128 Collins – Near-Mint to Mint, No. 130 Dodd – Nr-Mt to Mt, No. 143 Davis – Near-Mint, No. 166 Gabriel – Nr-Mt to Mt, and No. 180 – Ex-Mt.
