Here are three high-grade partial sets of 1970 Topps Football issue, with cards boasting a striking Near-Mint to Mint or better appeal, with a few Near-Mints and an sparkling, crisp presentation, with wonderful color and gloss and jostled only by the occasional centering vagaries that are encountered with pristine cards from vending. The key No. 90 O.J. Simpson is found here in each of the three partial sets in a PSA holder (one graded PSA 6, one graded PSA 5 and one graded PSA 4) that provides a nice glimpse into the wider condition range. Indeed, for virtually all of the keys and stars, there is no discernible difference in condition with the lowliest of commons. The three sets are in varying levels of completion – 246/263, 213/261 and 148/263 – and can lay claim to impressive rosters of Hall of Famers and stars: Sayers (only in the first set), Starr, Simpson, Tarkenton, Nitschke, Kelly, Jones, Smith, Lilly, Alworth, Olsen, Barney, Page, Maynard, Csonka and others. This is a rare opportunity to pick up what is really a near-set and two partials of a coveted early Topps issue found here in a condition that – save for centering – is virtually unimprovable.
