Presented is a Houston Oilers game-worn helmet dated to the early 1980s and showing extensive use and worn by veteran offensive lineman John Schumacher, whose six-year tenure with the team lasted from 1978-85. The helmet is a Size L Riddell shell, with the famed Oil Derrick logos intact on each side and the striping partially disengaged on the lower back shell. It has been drilled for a lineman cage mask, which is no longer present, but portions of the broken clips remain. The Riddell chinstrap is present and Wildcat Snubber is intact, with Riddell’s M155 padding system on the interior. Size 7 ½ sticker is on the interior of the crown and large jaw pads are present. The No. 62 in dyno tape is affixed over the right ear hole, matching 1980s exemplars.
