Offered here is a wonderful example of the colorful, oversized 1970 Topps Basketball issue, the 2 ½-by-4 11/16 beauties that boast spectacular bold color backgrounds graced with intriguing portraits and posed-action shots from the greats of the era. The presented group is a complete First Series run from No. 1-110, with only the Lenny Wilkens card graded (PSA 6). It is a simply spectacular and almost unimprovable group, largely Near-Mint to Near-Mint to Mint, with the emphasis to the upper end of the scale, with vivid colors and gloss on the front and bright white backs with striking orange panels. The cards reveal the coveted “vending bend” that so eloquently speaks of uncirculated cardboard. The Hall of Famers and major stars conform to the wider condition range (No. 75 Alcindor is m/c), producing a wonderful, consistent look and a remarkably uniform presentation.
