Here’s the iconic April 13, 1962 issue of Life Magazine that featured Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton on the cover, both of whom were ultimately overshadowed for collectors by another dynamic duo, Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris, who appeared inside in an important Post Cereal advertising insert. The insert is in simply outstanding condition and remains snugly inserted against the spine; the cards are easily Near-Mint or better, with only a microscopic tear at the bottom of less than 1/8 of an inch that does not reach the surface of the card. The 128-page magazine presents in roughly Excellent condition, with some of the typical wear at the spine and some dog-eared pages, and the back cover has a small tear and some ballpoint writing, in this case math calculations that are barely visible. Speaking of visible, there is nothing disturbing the iconic images of Liz and Dick as Anthony and Cleopatra chatting in costume on the front cover, but presumably not on film, since Burton is smoking a filtered cigarette.
